Rani Mukerjee ushered in the New Year with filmmaker Aditya Chopra and his family in London. The two were spotted coming out of Mumbai International Airport on Monday evening after getting off the same flight.
Rani and Aditya have always been shy to acknowledge their relationship publicly. This time too, they chose to come out of the airport separately, to avoid the media glare. “Rani walked out of the airport alone first, carrying a heavy fur jacket and a handbag. She promptly got into a car and drove off. Less than five minutes later, Aditya walked out. His younger brother Uday, dad Yash Raj Chopra and mom Pamela followed,” an eyewitness said.
“Rani, who usually avoids the camera in the presence of Aditya, looked cheerful and was smiling all the while. This proves she was probably very much aware of the paparazzi waiting at the exit door. This could be the reason why Rani and Adi decided to leave the airport separately and travel to their respective homes in different cars despite having holidayed together,” our source said.
Aditya, the head honcho of his dad’s film production company Yash Raj Films, has always been known to be reclusive. In the 16 years since he first shot to fame with his 1995 blockbuster Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Adi has never attended any press meet or public functions.
“It was a surprise to see Aditya not avoiding the photographers from clicking his pictures,” the eyewitness added. Rani’s family holiday with the Chopras also puts to rest the speculations of tension brewing between Aditya and his father over Rani. A few years ago, when Aditya split with his wife Payal, Rani was rumoured to be the reason.
So are we going to hear the wedding bells anytime soon?
